Fotographer: Christian Gustavsson
I recently received these very nice images from Christina Wessén, the former design student graduated from Beckmans College of Design, who we did a collaboration with this spring. Together we custom designed 6 pairs of shoes which were shown with an outfit to each of them for her graduation show in May. Below you find an interview with Christina, which tells you a little more about her collection and the shoes!
Name: Christina Wessén
Age: 26
Studied: Fashion and design at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm
Graduation show: May 22, 2012
Special interest: Shoes
Favourite blog: Advanced style (Cool, elder women with style)
Size in shoes: 41
How would you describe your personal style?
I always emanate from myself and I would never create anything I wouldn’t want to carry myself. The style is comfy yet well dressed.
Did you change your initial design during the time, or did you stick to the plan?
No, I’ve changed it a lot of times :)
How would you say the shoes look?
I’ve made 6 different models and they are all different in some ways. I wanted them to be united but still different. I found it really nice to use shiny material on the uppers. For the outsoles I liked to cover them in leather.
Describe the clothes in the collection!
They are rather simple pieces and quite spacious, they are foremost made in velvet and wool. I want to create a balance between the relaxed and the more well- dressed. It’s supposed to both feel and look comfy. But nevertheless the clothes can preferably be worn with the more well-dressed.

Here is one of the results of our collaboration with the student (or former student) Christina Wessén, who two weeks ago graduated from Beckmans college of design. This is one of the six pairs of custom made shoes Christina designed for her exam collection which were all made in the Vagabond workshop. They are so cool!
More images of her collection will appear in the blog within soon!

Right now we are doing an interesting collaboration with a talented student named Per Axén. He is studying fashion and design at the University of Borås and has together with our design department developed a unique shoe for his exam collection. An interview and more pictures will be published here after his examination. We are all waiting in excitement for the result :)

The Swedish, London based duo JimmieMartin has since 2004 provided celebrities and other interior interested with eclectic furniture's in a decadent but still very urban way. Jimmie and Martin just moved their office/showroom/workshop to Kensington road, just between Kensington Garden and Holland Park, London. A year ago Vagabond collaborated with them, letting them do 6 customized chairs and limited edition canvas bags. If your in London, visit them! If not, just pay a visit to their homepage.

Give it up for Swedens most avant-garde fashion brand; Nakkna. Back in 2003, the trio Claes, Camilla and Ella put their heads together after studies at Beckman`s school of design in Stockholm. Except their own neo minimalistic collections, the trio has collaborated with Topshop, Absolut Vodka and Swedish retailer Weekday among others... Vagabond have also collaborated with Nakkna for several seasons at the brands annual fashion shows. Nakkna have named their AW09 collection "Black Spell" and Vagabond are very honoured that they choose to use our shoes in their new lookbook. Check out the collection or shop at their homepage www.nakkna.com

Last week retail chain Bik Bok presented a collaboration with designer, actress, model and Norwegian it-girl Jenny Skavlan. Well, just another retail chain collaboration might be your first thought... No, no, no! On the show that was held during Oslo fashion week last week models were wearing Vagabond... And, the clothes looks really hot as well. So keep your eyes open!
