Weekend warmup; 11th of December

by Robert 11. December 2009 15:24

This Friday's weekend warmup is a French classic, despite it is just a couple of years old. "Ce Jeu" is the title, and the artist? Electro-pop artist Yelle, or Julie Budet, which is her real name. Yelle had her breakthrough with the song "Je veux te voir" (first called "Short dick Cuizi") in 2005 which was a punch in the face on the French artist Cuiziniers condescending lyrics towards women. Yelle was discovered through her myspace site and released her first album "Pop-Up" in 2007.

Architecture of the year

by Robert 4. December 2009 16:27

If you plan to pay a visit in Poland's second largest city Lodz, you might consider a stop at Andel Hotel. 278 rooms, conference spaces and underground parking sounds pretty much like an average hotel, but through careful renovations of the historic red-brick building, a former weaving mill, this hotel is something special. OP Architekten stands for the exterior and Jestico + Whiles for the interior... Do I have to tell you that this hotel won "Architecture of the Year" by the European Hotel Design Award 2009?
